HTTP Workbench — Privacy Policy

Published by Marionette Consulting LLP · Effective 15 June 2026 · Last updated 15 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the HTTP Workbench iOS application (the “App”), published by Marionette Consulting LLP (“we”, “us”, or “our”), handles your information. HTTP Workbench is a developer utility for composing, sending, replaying, and inspecting HTTP requests and responses.

Summary

We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. The App has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no user accounts, and no third-party SDKs. Everything you do in HTTP Workbench stays on your device, except for the network requests you explicitly send to servers of your own choosing.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, contacts, location, device identifiers, or usage analytics. The App does not contain advertising or third-party tracking technologies, and it does not transmit any information to Marionette Consulting LLP.

Data You Create and Store Locally

HTTP Workbench lets you create and save content such as HTTP requests, request history, response data, and imported session files (for example, Charles .chlsj exports). This content is stored locally on your device, within the App’s own storage. We do not have access to it, and it is never uploaded to us or to any third party. This data is included in your device backups (e.g. iCloud or encrypted local backups) only if you have enabled such backups in iOS; that backup is governed by Apple’s privacy practices, not ours.

Network Connections You Initiate

The core purpose of the App is to send HTTP requests. When you send a request, the App connects directly to the destination server you specify and transmits exactly the data you have entered (such as URLs, headers, and request bodies). These connections go to your chosen endpoints — not to Marionette Consulting LLP. You are responsible for the destinations you contact and for any credentials or data you choose to include in your requests. Because the App is designed for testing arbitrary endpoints, including local and development servers, it permits connections over both HTTPS and unencrypted HTTP; please exercise appropriate caution when sending sensitive data over insecure connections.

No Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or software-development kits. No data is shared with third parties.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because your data is stored only on your device, you remain in control of it at all times. You can delete saved requests and history from within the App, and you can remove all App data permanently by deleting the App from your device.

Children’s Privacy

HTTP Workbench is a developer tool intended for a general, professional audience. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Security

Since we do not collect or hold your data, there is no Marionette Consulting LLP–operated server that stores it. Data on your device is protected by iOS’s built-in security and the protections you enable on your device (such as a passcode and device encryption).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the updated version at this URL.
